camp WABANAKI

MY absolute favourite place on earth! Today I start this summers adventure at camp. I’m finally high enough in the ranks to be considered as SAILING DIRECTOR, so in december i applied, and I GOT THE JOB! For the month of June there is a group of us up there setting the camp up, and getting ready for July and August when the campers come! Camp has been the best part of my year for 13 years now! Can’t believe this is my last year, seriously going to make the best of it! I’ll try and keep you posted with stories and pictures as much as I can, but it keeps me pretty busy!
here’s to the summer of a life time!

I’m going to miss waterloo, and all my friends, as I always do, but they have some sick stuff planned for the summer, and I know they’ll live it up enough for me too!

The adventure of a life time

I haven’t had the chance yet to write about my year away, studying in England, and traveling Europe. I think I have been stalling because by writing this it means it is truly over. Last summer I was asked by Queens University to study abroad at their campus in Herstmonceux England. The school is a 15th century castle - the most beautiful building I have ever seen! I accepted there offer, and on September 6th of last year I landed in London England. Never ever in my life would I have I have seen myself where i was a year ago. I had no idea what I had gotten myself into - but I can now say it will take a life time to top that experience! Other then a trip to Cubs, Italy and New York, I had never travelled before, so moving half way across the world was kinda crazy! I met the most amazing people while in europe, and will never forget them. There were only 150 people at my school, so you can imagine, you knew basically everything about everyone. I never thought that in my first year university I would be traveling all around europe on my weekend, making my adventure even more then what it was intended to be! MY second month away (october) my 7 girlfriends and I: flew yo Dublin for the weekend, 48 hours in Ireland, and then we were back in England for another week of classes. Everything I did was something new and exciting! wether is was a trip to Greece! or just a walk though the castle grounds, every moment was amazing! As part of my schools program the entire student body goes on a ‘mid term tip’ each term. First term I went to Edinburgh Scotland, and Liverpool, England. While in Liverpool I saw a professional football game (soccer for canadians)! Such an amazing experience to see a football game in England. The staff also planned little day trip to places that were close, and by close I mean i went to Dieppe, France for the day, Vimmy Ridge, France and Bath, England. Never in my life did I would travel to France, and well I well i happened to go 3 times in 8 months. My final time in France was my second mid term trip. This time we went to Brussels, Belgium, and PARIS, FRANCE! I think its most peoples dream to sand in front of that Eiffel tower, and get a picture. Well as part of my educational experience, I got to! I seriously made every day I was in europe worth it. I never thought that i could go to London England to many time, and well really you can’t but I have gone so many time I;m now able to navigate myself around without a map, and use the tube, with barley a map. Seriously NEVER EVER thought I would be able to say that. London England is my favorite city in the world. This past year I have travelled all over europe to big cities, berlin, Paris, Dublin, budapest, Prague, but I can say with confidence that London is by far and always will be my favourite! If I could go back, I would do it all again, but it really was the people who made my experience what it was! I made what I would consider the best friends in the world! it’s hard to believe that I didn’t know these people my whole life! First off, my roommate - everyone who has a roommate is always nervous… what if they suck, what if I don’t get along with them..? I don’t know how they did it, but I have never gotten along with someone was well as Catherine and I get along, we lived side by side every single day of this year, and not once did we get in a fight, and I was never ever sick of her. In fact she went away for the weekend once, and i cried when she got back, cause i missed having her around! Catherine was always there for me, when I was having a bad day, or needed someone to rant to! There is no way I would have made it through first year without her! The other two girls that made my year what it was, were Emilie and Kajsa. These two girls are just as amazing as catherine, and helped so much in making my year what it was! they are so amazing! and I can’t wait to live with all three of them next year! The staff at the castle, ad in my residence were just amazing, they cared so much about all of us, and would go out of their way to make sure we were happy! If ever you have the chance to do what I did, don’t say no, it’ll be your biggest regret! I had the adventure of a life time, and I wouldn’t have asked for ANYTHING else to make my year better, it was the best if could have been! 
I cannot say it enough, but THANK YOU ENGLAND, EUROPE AND HERSTMONCEUX CASTLE - FOR THE BEST YEAR OF MY LIFE

dreams and reality

Someone once told me my dreams were not realistic, another someone once told me, that that poor person will never be as successful if they think dreams are unrealistic. MAKE your dream happen, its in unrealistic if you aren’t willing to work for it. yes my dreams may change, but if you never set a goal or have a dream, you will never succeed them!

Bangs add character to the face they frame

I have been contemplating getting straight across bangs for a month or so now, the idea first came to me on easter weekend while I was sitting eating easter chocolate with my friend Jesse outside the castle. She has straight across bangs, and hair roughly my colour, they look so good on her, just made me want them. On the contrary, I have wanted my hair to be one length for basically my whole life, and I have been growing my side bangs out for over a year now, do I really want to cut my almost prefect dream hair for something new? 
Who knows; After summer if I still want them, maybe I’ll just do it, hair is hair, it will always grow back, and I think my face needs something new!  
Zooey Deschanel is another girl who’s bangs look absolutely amazing!
